The Byrd Meadowlark 2 is a plain edge blade with a G-10 handle. This short bladed knife from Spyderco features a number of improvements made to several knives in the Byrd line up. A full-flat ground blade on the Meadowlark 2 means that this knife slices quick and true. The Meadowlark is also lightweight at just 3.75 ounces and featuring the classic “comet” cutout in the base of the blade.

When working out in the field you can be assured of a non-slip grip with the textured G-10 handle, and jimping on the blade spine and thumb curve of the handle. Jimping is a series of special crosshatches in the knife that create better gripping surface for the thumbs. This improves overall control of the blade too. A David Boye cutaway on the lock helps prevent accidental unlocking of the blade when the knife is in use.

The Byrd Meadowlark 2 also includes a four way locking clip that allows you to carry the folded knife in your pocket with the tip up, tip down, or in the left or right pocket. The long clip secures the knife deeply in the pocket so that there is less chance of it sliding out. A lanyard hole on the knife handle makes it possible to wear the knife around the neck or secure to the wrist when in use.
