The Byrd Meadowlark 2 Lightweight Combo Edge knife is one of the great knives made by Spyderco. The Byrd line of knives includes several upgrades as of 2011. This particular Meadowlark 2 Combo Edge knife is more comfortable to use, and more accurate than previous versions. This knife, like all Byrd knives, features the classic “comet” shaped cutout to signify Spyderco’s attention to detail and fine manufacturing tolerances.
Working with the Byrd Meadowlark 2 Lightweight knife is a breeze due to the mere 2.4 ounces it weighs. The handle is made from a Bi-Directional Textured FRN material that keeps the weight down, while also serving as an excellent gripping surface. Phosphor bronze pivot washers allow the blade to swing open in one smooth motion. Jimping, or crosshatching, on the spine and thumb curve of the handle provides a no-slip grip for the thumb to increase control and precision. A special Boye cutaway on the blade lock keeps the blade securely locked in place when in use.
You can use the four way clip that the knife comes with to keep that knife secured safely in your pocket. The four way clip allows you to adjust the clip for left or right pocket carry, and holding the blade tip up or down in the pocket.
